In January, the BioCat project was happy to report that the construction phase at facility in Avedøre was close to completion, and since then the project has reached even more milestones.
As previously mentioned, the full methanation unit is in place, and it is now connected to power and water supply. The first electrolyzer unit, which was delivered i January, has been commissioned and is also connected to power and water supply – this unit has already produced its first Hydrogen during a testing phase.
Even more importantly, the commissioning of the plant itself has started. The various signals have been tested, and the first subsystems have already been successfully commissioned. As a result, the project is aiming frogs input by the end of February or the beginning of March.
Finally, the testing of the second electrolyzer was succesful, and it was delivered and put in place on January 9th. The installation and commissioning of this unit will start immediately.
Looking ahead, the establishment of a BioCat laboratory on site at BIOFOS is in progress, and the construction phase is expected to be completed on schedule – during the last week of February.
